Our Mission Statement
Dedicated to ensuring compliance and performance of your product! Thomson Lab Services offers the expertise, experience and technical knowledge necessary to manage your Safety, Conformity, Reliability and Material needs.
History
Thomson Lab Services has been providing full service support for safety, conformance, reliability and material applications for over 25 years in support of a $4 Billion consumer product line, which included Technicolor, Thomson, RCA and GE brands. The Radio Corporation of America (RCA) was founded in 1919. RCA grew to become the largest radio and television business in the world. In 1986 General Electric acquired RCA. Two years later Thomson acquired both RCA and General Electric’s Consumer Electronics Business. In 1992 Thomson established their U.S. Headquarters in Indianapolis, Indiana. Numerous facilities, design centers and laboratories were relocated to the new headquarter facilities. In 2011 Thomson changed its corporate name to Technicolor USA to take advantage of a stronger brand name. The laboratory facilities associated with RCA’s Indiana based manufacturing and design centers were relocated to Indianapolis as well. The laboratories were enlarged and strengthened with the top engineers and scientists in the region. The lab’s primary purpose, until 2004, was as an internal service organization supporting Thomson, RCA and GE products. In the summer of 2004 Thomson Lab Services was formed. TLS is an amalgamation of three of Thomson’s laboratories - Safety, Compliance and Reliability; Component Reliability; Materials & Chemical Engineering.
