On November 28 at 13:32, the X1291 CRE train, loaded with 920 tons of daily necessities, departed from the Erenhot Railway Port, heading to Vorsino in Russia. This marked the Erenhot Railway Port’s passage of over 3,000 CRE trains for the year. It is the first time the port has surpassed the 3,000-train milestone within a calendar year since the initiation of CRE train operations.

From the first train passing through in 2013 until the second half of 2019, Erenhot Railway Port accumulated a throughput of 3,000 CRE trains. However, in the current year of 2023, this significant number has already been achieved. The rapid growth in the number of CRE trains has effectively promoted economic and trade cooperation of countries along the “Belt and Road” Initiative, providing robust transportation support for facilitating both domestic and international dual circulation. As of mid-November, the throughput volume of Erenhot Railway Port for the year surpassed 15 million tons, a YoY increase of 33.4%.

Throughout the year, automobiles and machinery products have been the main contributors to the export growth at Erenhot Railway Port, while imported goods primarily consist of bulk materials such as coal and timber. As of November 30, the cumulative number of CRE trains passing through the port reached 3,027, with a YoY growth of 32.1%. Among these, outbound trains numbered 1,652, reflecting a YoY growth of 39.2%, while inbound trains reached 1,375, with a YoY growth of 24.5%.
